Bong Joon-ho gives us one of the highest rated thrillers in recent times. Chris Evans plays a violent man stuck on a train. Sounds like a movie you might not want to spend your time with, but hear the rest of the plot.

The movie starts out explaining the context of what is happening. The movie takes place in 2031 when the whole world is going through a second ice age that can kill anything in minutes. Think The Day After Tomorrow (2004), but the storm spreads a lot quicker.

The first scene shows Curtis, played by Chris Evans, in the very back car in a train. Everyone in the world is dead except for the ones in this giant train that moves around the entire world.

Hundreds of people are in that one car, the story picks up 17 years after they are the only apocalypse survivors. They are all eager to get out, they haven't even seen the other cars before. Once we start watching the movie, Curtis already has a plan. He knows that soldiers come in all the time and torture the people in the car. Curtis becomes skeptical about the soldiers' guns since he knows that bullets have been "extinct" for 10 years. That's all that will be said about this plot.

There are so many surprises and "hold your breath" scenes in this. Almost the entire run time is non-stop action. Keep in mind that this is rated R for blood and violence, and there is a lot of both in this movie.

Recommended to anyone who likes intense and dark thrillers.
